Bringing the Magic of Chickens To You!

Interactive presentations that explore chicken superpowers, secret languages, and the power of kindness.

Not able to make it to the sanctuary? We offer mobile workshops & presentations! Every presentation is specifically designed for young audiences. We provide a range of visual aids and sensory tools to engage even the most distracted children. Our talk covers topics like:

  • What Makes a Chicken Happy: What do they need to live a good life - shelter, food & care.

  • The Anatomy of a Chicken: Learning about feathers, combs, and legs (and why they matter!).

  • The Daily Routine: What it takes to provide a lifetime of safety, medical care, and happiness for rescued birds.

Everything is designed to be both educational AND fun. We feature interactive quizzes, high-quality photos, videos, and interactive elements to keep children engaged and promote empathy and responsibility toward animals. Presentations can be tailored to fit your group's age range and time slot (typically 20–30 minutes). Most importantly: all presentations are FREE. Interested in connecting? We acknowledge that we are on the stolen lands of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Huron-Wendat peoples. We recognize our responsibility to listen, learn, and fiercely advocate for Indigenous sovereignty and justice. Rooted in Indigenous teachings of kinship, Secondhand Stories strives to honor all beings by creating a sanctuary where chickens are valued as individuals deserving of care, respect, and belonging.
